Jasminum sambac (Oleaceae) is a multi-functional plant that used as decoration, traditional medicine, and source of essential oil. This study aims to explain the botany, bioactivity oil J. sambac. The research method with online library mainly sourced from Google Scholar using keywords sambac, uses one most expensive oils in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, perfumery aromatherapy industries. In medicine treat dysmenorrhea, menorrhea, ringworm, leprosy, skin diseases, analgesic, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, sedative, expectorant, fever, pain inflammation cancer. suppress lactation, anti-microbial, antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-hypertensive, wounds, ulcers. distinctive aroma flowers related content oils, namely linalool, α- farnesene, d-nerolidol, geraniol, α-cadinol, benzyl alcohol, benzaldehyde, acetate, benzoate, 3-hexen-1-ol (Z) -3-hexen-1-ol acetate. an anti-microbial can be developed natural food preservative also keep body fresh.
